We had a busy week last week, with many activities like MAP testing that caused us to not always be able to do all of our daily routines. We took the opportunity to talk about the benefits of being flexible, reading books and talking about characters that are flexible (like our favorite, Pete the Cat!). We still managed to do a lot of learning ~ acting out our star books, learning a few tricky sounds and word families, continuing to explode as writers who write pages and pages of writing, and of course, playing together! As always, I continued to appreciate all of the amazing grown up help I have in the classroom to make this learning possible. Thank you for your continued support, classroom volunteers! | Wrapping up our Who Am I? PBL ProjectWe continued to practice our speaking for our final class presentations. Students presented their poster a second time to a partner while that partner used the video camera on an iPad to record them. The students then watched their video and self-assessed their speaking using our speaking rubric – thinking about what they saw their body, voice, and brain doing while they presented. They then worked with me to set a speaking goal for their final presentation. Four students gave their final presentations last Friday! The rest of the student will present this week. I will draw fair sticks to determine the order of the presentations. Stay tuned for final presentation videos, which will be posted on each student’s e-folio page soon after he/she presents.
